About

Who is behind the Stroke Elf website?

The Stroke Elf is a partnership between:

Who writes for the Stroke Elf?

What we do

  • Scan databases and websites for new evidence
  • Select the evidence that we think you need to know about
  • Appraise its validity, importance and applicability
  • Write a short blog summarising its key messages, strengths and weaknesses
  • Spread the word via social media

Why we do this

Because:

  • People still don’t get the evidence when and where they need it
  • As a result, we are still doing things that don’t work, and not doing things that do work
  • Some practitioners perceive “evidence” as remote and irrelevant to their practice
  • They are too busy to find and appraise it themselves anyway
